Concert "Meeting of Cultures," hosted by St. Nicholas Orchestra, will feature Yamma Ensemble from Israel performing traditional Hebrew music, Jewish diaspora music, i.e., songs of Jewish communities from Yemen and Babylon, Sephardims and Hasidims.
The show will also feature the Russian star Otava Yo (www.otava-yo.spb.ru ), whose repertoire primarily includes songs bordering on Russian ethno and folk in new arrangement with very lively beat. The musicians are sometimes called modern jesters because they combine well-known, traditional Russian music with a huge dose of humor and the stereotype of a Russian person from Gogol’s plays. The concert will also feature winners of the Open Stage competition.
The event is part of 28th International Folk Music Festival Mikołajki Folkowe.
