The Streetwalker open-air gallery is expanding the concept of ready-made art by using the existing everyday elements of the city and turning them into works of art.
The event takes the form of a guided tour in which a fictional curator leads the audience through the newly opened gallery, presents the various fictional artworks and artists and engages the audience in a lively debate on contemporary art. The gallery presents everything from sculptures to paintings, to interactive installations, to unexpected “performance” works involving unsuspecting passers-by.
The audience gradually experience a shift in their perspective as the borderline between fiction and reality becomes blurred, and suddenly the whole city appears to be a giant work of art and all the people in the streets are its performers. At the end of the tour the visitors are invited to discover new works of art that can become a part of the gallery collection.
The open-air gallery will be created by workshop participants in collaboration with the workshop instructors: Robin Klengel and Jurij Bobič, members of the theatre collective KudLjud from Ljubljana (Slovenia), during a 3-day workshop held as part of Community Arts Lab.
Booking: Bookings are made via online form on a first-come-first-served basis. Free of charge.
