The legendary band Osjan was founded in 1971 in Krakow and is considered a forerunner of World Music in Poland. They have been for years electrifying listeners with exceptional, avant-garde music in which almost the whole world is present. Hindu sounds and phrases are spectacularly intertwined with African and Middle Eastern folklore, while fragments reminiscent of medieval mysteries blend with classical music and jazz. Rhythm – this primordial and inherent element of expression in all cultures and religions – has always played the key role in their music. Performed by Jacek Ostaszewski, this unusual, distinctive procession known from Marek Grechuta’s work captivates the audience with its energy, putting listeners into a trance.
