On the surface – breaking news. This is what is happening in experimental music in Poland, Europe and across the world. On closer contact, we can see granules of the near and distant past – even from the Antiquity, bound in modernity.
Polish Radical Polish Ansambl will show how much of Mazurka there is in American minimalism, and how much of Zygmunt Krauze is in tradition. And vice versa.
Małgorzata Walentynowicz (metapianist)
She plays on everything with keys, but, most of all, she can hear senses and thoughts in sounds. The artist will present a musical-visual-theatrical review of musical theories of everything that are being created today by important figures of new music in response to the world as it is.
Hubert Zemler (multipercussionist)
His music is difficult to classify because different percussions are an excuse for the artist to deal with non-musical matters. Together with Wiktor Podgórski, he will refer to Antiquity motifs present in a 1960 short film by Enrico Fulchignoni as well as to musical aggregates composed for this film by Iannis Xenakis, the great 20th-century architect of music and its texture. Only that Xenakis will not be present in the film shown at the concert, he will be replaced by Hubert Zemler’s music.
The original version of the film– with Xenakis – will be screened prior to the concert.
