Every childhood has its own collections and iconic objects. At the turn of the 1980s and 1990s children were collecting, exchanging and going mad after Turbo chewing gum’s inserts which featured images of racing cars. The cult toy of the period was Matchbox. These objects are one of the themes raised in the work of Lublin-based artist Seweryn Chwała.
We invite you to a unique drawing and painting workshop. In the class, you will learn the basics of sketching and mixing colours on the palette, as well as various techniques of creating drawings and paintings. You will become artists who create their own still life paintings on easel. You will get to know the principles of perspective and the types of composition along with some definitions related to art. The workshop will also be an opportunity to see real oil paintings on canvas. In the workshop, the artist will talk about his experiences and present his unique collection.
Instructor: Seweryn Chwała was born in 1981 in Lublin. In the years 2002-2007 he studied at the Faculty of Fine Arts at Maria Curie Sklodowska University in Lublin. He obtained a diploma in Painting in 2007. He has been creating graffiti since the late 1990s and started painting after 2000. He creates realistic paintings and tries to convey the reality filtered through the medium of photography. He also experiments with abstraction and mural art. He runs workshops for children and youth, mainly on graffiti, painting, sculpture and screen printing. Member of the Lublin-based collective Open Studio (Otwarta Pracownia).

Project "Your turn!" will help you realize your ideas and share your skills with others. We take care of the organizational aspect and you conduct workshops.
