Wojtek Kubiak has been active on music scene since the early 1980's. He played in the folk band Modern Folk Trio, with which he won the award at the 1983 Country Music Festival in Stodoła. In 1986 he won the prize at the FAMA Festival in Świnoujście. There he met several musicians from Kielce, with whom he founded a band called Mafia. At the end of the 1980s, he was also the vocalist of the super group A YA GORE, which featured icons of the rock and jazz scene of that period. The band was led by the founder of Oddział Zamknięty, Wojtek Łuczaj-Pogorzelski. But Kubiak’s musical love was the band Chocolate Spoon, with which he released three albums: Macho, from which comes the song Hey Ho Rock'n'Roll, Blue Bird and Pope Love with the song Wild Dream. He has been giving solo shows for years, and has played all over Europe. He plays the classical and twelve-string acoustic guitar, banjo and ukulele. He wrote a busker’s handbook containing 40 short chapters full of knowledge about how to play on the street. He is the author of a novel about a street musician, One-way Street.

For over nine years, he has been giving concerts promoting addiction prevention. He played over 500 of them in schools, school complexes, prisons, detention centres and correctional facilities as well as military units throughout Poland. He also gives concerts devoted to today’s patriotism under the slogan Patriotism in Rock. He is also running workshops under this slogan this year to celebrate the 100th anniversary of Poland’s independence.

Free tickets to the show can be won in Radio Lublin competitions or by signing to the event of Facebook.
