Free legal assistance available also for one-man companies

One-man businesses may also use the assistance after the amendment to the provisions concerning the free legal assistance provided by the city. Until now, free legal assistance and free civic counselling have been provided only to natural persons. However, after the amendments, the potential group of beneficiaries has been extended. That change concerns one-man companies that did not employ other people last year. During the epidemic, residents will receive legal advice via telephone, email or messenger. Advice can be arranged by calling: 81 466 12 10. As a result, the person does not have to submit a written declaration that he/she is not able to bear the costs of legal assistance any longer. In turn, a person conducting business activity does not have to submit an additional statement about not employing other persons last year, either. In the City of Lublin, assistance is provided by advocates and legal advisers appointed by Lublin's local government as well as lawyers, legal advisers and counsellors engaged by non-governmental organisations selected in an open competition. This year, in 3 points free legal assistance is provided by lawyers, in 4 points by legal advisors, in 3 points by non-governmental organisations (Catholic Association for Assisting People in Need "Agape" - 2 points, Association "Sursum Corda" - 1 point) out of 14 stationary points in the city. Free civic counseling is provided in 4 points by non-governmental organisations (Association "Sursum Corda" - 2 points, Association Supporting Activities "Bona Fides" - 2 points). Moreover, 293 pieces of advice have been provided from March, 13 until today: 213 pieces in the field of free legal assistance, 80 in the field of free civic advice, 122 pieces of advice have been provided on duty by lawyers and legal advisers and 171 on duty by non-governmental organisations.

Comprehensive information on the location of free legal assistance points and their working hours can be read here.

Musical theatre during quarantine

Project consisting of three series of thematic events "Together with Musical Theatre during quarantine" has been prepared by the Musical Theatre. Events will be published on Facebook and YouTube channel throughout June and July. The project is implemented as a part of the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage programme "Culture in the network".

  • "Theatrical readers" - a series of films dedicated to children and young people

Soloists of the Musical Theatre in Lublin will read fragments of literary works - equivalents of performances from the Theatre’s repertoire addressed to young viewers such as: "Anne of Green Gables", "Thumbelina", "Cinderella", "Puss in Boots", "Snow White", "Pinocchio" or "Legend of the Devil's Paw".

  •  "Home visits" - meetings with the artists of the Musical Theatre in Lublin

These are virtual meetings with representatives of various artistic groups of the Music Theatre in Lublin: soloists, orchestra, choir and ballet. The artists will talk about their education and career, present their work, mention their favourite musical compositions as well as non-theatrical passions. Internet users will also have the opportunity to ask artists some questions.

  •  "Develop yourself with the Musical Theatre"

The artists of the Theatre will present simple exercises related to their profession, that everyone can do at home e.g. acquiring new skills (music or movement).

The programme was co-financed by the National Centre of Culture as a part "The culture in the network".
