Civil Society Gathering Conference

On April 12, the Civil Society Gathering conference, on a new dimension of civic volunteering, was held. The aim of the meeting was to stimulate Polish volunteers to act, but also to exchange information and ideas between people from different countries involved in volunteering.

During the meeting, issues on joining polish, german and french efforts to build shared volunteering and future social projects, were brought up. Moreover, the attendees of the first trial project talked about their experiences and benefits on project participation.

Throughout the event, an interactive "brainstorming" technique was held, where the Polish equivalent of "Nationale Civic Service" was consulted and discussed. The highest number of votes got:

  • civic service
  • social service
  • civic volunteering

The event was also attended by Michał Braun, Head of NIW-CRSO, welcomed guests and emphasized that it was worth shifting polish social energy into a systematic volunteering.

The meeting was organised by Polish Council of Youth Organizations (PROM), Collectif pour un service civique européen (France), Stiftung Zukunft Berlin (Germany) and National Freedom Institute – Centre for Civil Society Development.

The city of Lublin was represented by Youth Policy Office, Sempre a Frente Foundation and Impuls dla Młodych Foundation.
