06.07.202310:14

More spaces for young people will come into existence this Summer in Wieniawa, Bronowice, Kośminek and Śródmieście districts within European Youth Capital Lublin 2023 programme. As a result of the second open call for management of youth open spaces, certain NGOs were selected to meet the challenges. Such places will be developed in:

  • Baza, Długa 88, street - the venue will be hosted by Fundacja Strefa Dorastania (The Growing Zone Foundation);
  • at Punkt Kultury, Skibińska 21, street - the place will be hosted by Fundacja Dobrych Pomysłów;
  • at B. Prusa 2, street - the space called Prusa 2 and will be run together with Fundacja Instytut Aktywizacji i Rozwoju Społecznego with Fundacja Animatorów i Twórców Kultury TRACH;
  • at Al. Racławickich 33, street - the space called "Kosmos" will be managed by Fundacja TEATRIKON.

Moreover, financial contribution will be granted to the space located at Jana Sawy 5, street. This space is to be opened in the coming weeks. Financial backing will also include psychological support, until the end of 2023, for young people attending Piwnica Labiryntu. This youth space has also received material support organised as IKEA Lublin equipment. The total amount of funds allocated to open call competitions equals to PLN 2.3 million. Lublin authorities have pledged to create open spaces for young people to pursue their passions, meet friends or do their homework assignments.

"Hey!" is the first space of this type, located at Peowiaków 11, street. It was opened in cooperation with IKEA as part of the "Youth Space" venture in the bilateral initiative "Youth for the City, City for the Youth - projects and initiatives to engage and act in the local communities" supported by Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway, through the EEA and Norway Grants.

The competition results are available at BIP tab of the Lublin City Hall.
