Celebration of the 450th anniversary of the Union of Lublin

The city of Lublin celebrated a unique jubilee in 2019 - July 1 marked the 450th anniversary of the conclusion of the Polish-Lithuanian Union, known as the Union of Lublin. In addition, it was the time to celebrate the 15th anniversary of Poland's presence in the European Union. The solemn celebration of the signing of the union was a perfect moment to remind about the role that Lublin also played in shaping the European community of nations.

The year-round program of the Jubilee celebrations included a number of cultural events, concerts, exhibitions, performances, scientific conferences and sports events. The inhabitants of Lublin, partner cities, Lublin universities, schools, as well as many scientific and cultural institutions in the country and abroad actively participated in their organization.
